About
Design FTP works with community organizers, activists, local groups, educators, and nonprofits to create visual tools for outreach and education to the people they serve. Projects are aimed at building and uplifting communities and public education.
Our services combine graphic design services with experience with research, content creation, distilling information, and translation to Spanish and Chinese. We create logos, event flyers, know your rights handouts, graphics for social media, business cards, and other content to make information easily accessible. Our services also include assistance with research and distilling legal and policy concepts and translation to Spanish and Chinese.
Former clients include Chinese-American Planning Council, National Lawyers Guild, People for Fairness Coalition, and Miriam's Kitchen.
Founder and Lead Designer Zixu Hsia (they/them) is a graphic designer, artist, and tenant rights lawyer. They started Design FTP after years of working and volunteering for nonprofit, and community, and government entities and seeing how the work of designing flyers for community events, know your rights information sheets, and other important outreach materials was frequently undertaken by busy staff members, volunteers, and interns without design expertise.
Zixu's current and previous professional experiences have included Skadden Fellow/housing lawyer, community organizer, community liaison for a US Congresswoman, educator, research assistant, and Fulbright recipient.
Zixu lives with their cat Meggie in Brooklyn, New York.
